PURE Grips Inside the Ropes at Frys.com at Greyhawk

Scary as it sounds, they actually let us inside the ropes at the PGA Tour Frys.com event at Greyhawk GC in Scottsdale, AZ last week.

We had a great day watching the pros get ready for the tournament. It was quite interesting to see how many of the players were fighting for their spot on tour next year, trying to make the top 125 on the money list for 2009. We watched David Duval a lot, as he is the "bubble boy" at 125th on the money list, with a slim $10K lead over #126. We also watched Rickie Fowler quite a bit. He has almost won the last two weeks in his first two tournaments as a pro. We did not know it as we watched him on Tuesday, but he went on to finish T2 and narrowly missed winning the tournament in a playoff. We saw so many of the guys we watch on TV, it was incredibly cool.

We were at the tournament doing research on manufacturer's representatives and brand marketing on the PGA Tour. We wanted to better understand the ways which golf companies approach the PGA Tour and its players as a marketing venue as we prepare to have a PGA Tour presence in 2010. That's right! PURE Grips will have a PGA Tour rep out on tour next year and we are very excited about it. We are confident that the guys playing for millions will truly appreciate the uniquely tacky all-weather golf grips we make. After all, no one cares more about performance than these guys!

In all, it was a tremendous event and we were very happy with the effort. We look forward to getting out there in 2010!
